Matthew Reeve - Voice Consultant

Biography

Matthew is a voice consultant working with both the singing and spoken voice. He also works professionally as a musical director, arranger and composer. He read music as an undergraduate and postgraduate at King’s College London.

Recent musical direction credits include: Cinderella, Dying For It, The Fix, Marat/Sade, Emma and The American Clock. Other musical direction and composing credits include: Aladdin, One Man, Stepping Out, The Visit, Sweet Charity, Assassins, Cabaret, Henry V, The School for Scandal, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, The Burston School Strike, The Jungle Book, West Side Story and Flora the Red Menace. Directing credits include: Yerma, The Caucasian Chalk Circle, A Little Night Music, Nine and Sweet Charity. Forthcoming projects include Hair and Elegies for Angels, Punks and Raging Queens.

Matthew has taught extensively in the Further and Higher Education sector and in many professional drama training academies. He consults for various performing arts institutions and speech and language therapy groups across the United Kingdom. He is Senior Voice Tutor at Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts in London.

Matthew is a certified course instructor for Estill International and has taught courses and presented in the United Kingdom, Europe and America on voice and singing. He has a special interest in phonetics, vocal function and pedagogy, and maintains a successful private studio. His students work across the performing industry and have appeared as principals in West End shows including Priscilla – Queen of the Desert, Sunset Boulevard, Les Misérables, The Phantom of the Opera, Starlight Express, Fame, Hairspray, Wicked and We Will Rock You.

Matthew is a Director of Voicesource Limited, a retail and publishing company that distributes vocal products and specialist voice texts.
